Technical Bulletin - Aqualife #401 Cartridge WC1002a

General

The # 401 Aqualife cartridge is an extruded carbon product that offers the highest Chemical adsorption capacity of any filter having similar dimensions. It has comprehensive removal characteristics for chlorine and chemicals that contribute to taste and odour and high VOC removal capacity. The Aqualife #401 cartridges provide 0.5 pm dedicated micron mechanical filtration and extended life as a fine sediment and silt control cartridge. The Aqualife #401 water flow is in the radial (outside – in) direction that gives excellent dirt retention capacity with minimal pressure drop. Unlike common granular activated carbon (GAC) filter cartridges, the #401 series will not channel or by-pass, due to the extreme uniformity of the excluded activated carbon core.

Function

The #401 cartridge is suited for the reduction of chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOC), chlorinated hydrocarbons, suspended solids, and organic impurities from water, cyst, lead and turbidity reduction plus aqueous solutions or suspensions and many organic solvents.

Standards & Laboratory Data

The Aqualife #401 has been manufactured using FDA compliant materials and independently tested based on NSF/ANSI material requirements standards 42, 53 and 58.

Applications

All #401 cartridges are suited to residential and industrial water purification systems, industrial effluent water treatment, food service, pre and post RO systems.

Benefits

  • Highest Chemical Adsorptive capacity.
  • No Channelling or bypassing
  •  Highest VOC Reduction.
  • Cyst Removal. Giardia, Cryptosporidium
  • Lead Reduction
  • No Release of carbon fines.
  • Highest TOC Reduction

Chlorine and Lead Reduction

Independent performance testing verify the reduction results of free chlorine (<0.05 ppm) to provide greater than 99% removal from influent containing 6 ppm free chlorine, continuously flowing at 1 gpm and maintaining this removal efficiency to the end of the test. (Total Flow to 6000 US gallons or 23000 litres) while lead reduction has been identified to 2500 gallons.

Important All statements, technical information and recommendations contained herein are bases on tests we believe to be reliable and are generally regarded as indicative of performance to be expected from the filter Should doubts arise as to effectiveness it is recommended for specific accuracy or completeness, the performance of the filter should be evaluated within the applicable environment.
